I almost can't believe how you liberals can talk down to groups like the NAACP in this way by assuming that they have no political will beyond shared ethnicity. Listen to Allen West. He's constantly calling out people for this kind of racism. Romney came and spoke to this group as a group of voters. He didn't change his tune for them and he didn't assume they were all just voting for the black guy. His appearance before them was an example of what non-racist behaviour is all about. They seem to have known it. Of course the supposedly intellectually superior liberal elite who really do consider themselves everybody's 'masters' dont get it and will build on their already sturdy house of hipocrisy by throwing out accusations of racism at everyone they don't agree with.
Well, let's get off on the right foot, shall we? Kindly stick your labels where the sun won't reach them. I'm no one's liberal nor am I anyone's conservative. I share perspectives held on both sides of the center but I'd like to think none that are extreme.

Now let me respond directly to the question you posed:

1) Membership in the Democratic Party (yes, you mentioned this);
2) That perhaps a level playing field means exaclty that - level;
3) That government plays an important role in our society regardless of whether or not others choose to accept that premise;
4) That if government action or inaction (take your pick; theres lots to choose from) got the country into the economic fix in which it finds itself (and to deny that action/inaction didn't is to deny reality) then government needs to play a role in getting it out of that fix;
5) That health care is not a privilege but a basic right.

I could go on but that's enough for starters. I'm an Independent; not an advocate for the Democratic Party so if you'd like more there's loads of folks here who can help you out.

I think it was a miscalculation on the part of the Republican message makers. They were trying to replicate the success of "Hillarycare" but that was only going to be successful as long as Hillarycare never became law and the Republican myths about it not disproved by experience.

I don't like "Pea Packa" (PPACA) though. Just doesn't sound right. It's not as bad as "Lie Heap" though (Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program,or LIHEAP).

Agreed. Some of the names they come up with for programs are indeed funny. Pea Packa! LMAO.

I am convinced that it is not the national debt but our affection for acronyms that will be our undoing. We are, indeed, doomed.
