It's hard to argue about the perfection of Ms. Lang's voice. That entire album contains some wonderful song interpretations.

Hallelujah is such an amazing song that it seems to bring out the best in many performers (sorry, but I can't get into Bon Jovi's version). I still like Buckley's more direct version.

Regards,

D-Ray

I just did a side by side comparison of the CD and that youtube version. Maybe it's the compression or what have you but blech!

Either artist floats my boat even if yours was prettier. Heheheehehe!

Probably. I like Damien Rice's version too. He even looks a bit like Jeff Buckley. Also. Rufus Wainwright's version.

Brother Neil also accounted pretty well for himself during the Canada Games.

No disrespect intended to a fine lady but if you put some thick dark glasses on her I'm seein' Roy Orbison. From my twisted world view, that's a compliment to both of 'em.

I do believe you would take that "twisted" badge and wear it proudly.

I just plugged "Hallelujah" into Spotify and am listening to a lot of the different versions of that tune by a ton of different people. A lot of really good ones!

I was really surprised to see that G. F. Handel covered it too!
