Nothing here on his strong, loud, consistent, opposition - while at Fox - to the Neocon's and Trump's war cry re Syria. Also there is zero on his warnings and attitude towards the manipulations of right wing and left wing war zealots.

Carlson is a hack. He has zero respect among real journalists. He’s a sensationalist purveyor of hate, like the rest of the hate mongers on Faux. Anyone who understands journalism should easily see him for what he is.

We are former senators. The Senate has long stood in defense of democracy — and must again.

https://www.washingtonpost.com/opini...65a_story.html

Dear Senate colleagues,

As former members of the U.S. Senate, Democrats and Republicans, it is our shared view that we are entering a dangerous period, and we feel an obligation to speak up about serious challenges to the rule of law, the Constitution, our governing institutions and our national security.

We are on the eve of the conclusion of special counsel Robert S. Mueller III’s investigation and the House’s commencement of investigations of the president and his administration. The likely convergence of these two events will occur at a time when simmering regional conflicts and global power confrontations continue to threaten our security, economy and geopolitical stability.

It is a time, like other critical junctures in our history, when our nation must engage at every level with strategic precision and the hand of both the president and the Senate.

We are at an inflection point in which the foundational principles of our democracy and our national security interests are at stake, and the rule of law and the ability of our institutions to function freely and independently must be upheld.

During our service in the Senate, at times we were allies and at other times opponents, but never enemies. We all took an oath swearing allegiance to the Constitution. Whatever united or divided us, we did not veer from our unwavering and shared commitment to placing our country, democracy and national interest above all else.

At other critical moments in our history, when constitutional crises have threatened our foundations, it has been the Senate that has stood in defense of our democracy. Today is once again such a time.

Regardless of party affiliation, ideological leanings or geography, as former members of this great body, we urge current and future senators to be steadfast and zealous guardians of our democracy by ensuring that partisanship or self-interest not replace national interest.

A good appeal. It may convince 2 or so of the 35 Republicans needed.

New report on Russian disinformation, prepared for the Senate, shows the operation’s scale and sweep

Just imagine if this had been done to elect Obama, Hillary, or any Dem. The right wing nutjob media would be inflamed. Yet they simply deny, deny, deny. And the idiot Whells of the world believe their denials.

https://www.washingtonpost.com/techn...s-scale-sweep/

A report prepared for the Senate that provides the most sweeping analysis yet of Russia’s disinformation campaign around the 2016 election found the operation used every major social media platform to deliver words, images and videos tailored to voters’ interests to help elect President Trump -- and worked even harder to support him while in office.

Russian disinformation teams targeted Robert S. Mueller III

Russian disinformation teams targeted Robert S. Mueller III, says report prepared for Senate

Months after President Trump took office, Russia’s disinformation teams trained their sites on a new target: special counsel Robert S. Mueller III. Having worked to help get Trump into the White House, they now worked to neutralize the biggest threat to his staying there.

The Russian operatives unloaded on Mueller through fake accounts on Facebook, Twitter and beyond, falsely claiming that the former FBI director was corrupt and that the allegations of Russian interference in the 2016 election were crackpot conspiracies. One post on Instagram — which emerged as an especially potent weapon in the Russian social media arsenal — claimed that Mueller had worked in the past with “radical Islamic groups.”

"When the U.S. government put out its latest sanctions list on Dec. 19, the man named at the top did not seem especially important. Described in the document as a former Russian intelligence officer, he was accused of handling money and negotiations on behalf of a powerful Russian oligarch. The document did not mention that the man, Victor Boyarkin, had links to the 2016 campaign of President Donald Trump.

A months-long investigation by TIME, however, found that Boyarkin, a former arms dealer with a high forehead and a very low profile, was a key link between a senior member of the Trump campaign and a powerful ally of Russian President Vladimir Putin.
In his only interview with the media about those connections, Boyarkin told TIME this fall that he was in touch with Trump’s then-campaign chairman, Paul Manafort, in the heat of the presidential race on behalf of the Russian oligarch. “He owed us a lot of money,” Boyarkin says. “And he was offering ways to pay it back.”" Time

MSNBC's Rachel Maddow Hits No. 1 With Long, Complicated Segments Viewers Love

A great show, the antithesis of the idiotic ranters of Faux "News". A show for those capable of rational thought, unlike Trumpkins, who want slogans. She breaks down the Russian scandals in detail. I don't have cable, so listen to the podcasts via Alexa.
