Not related to politics or audio, but I ran across a pair of Schrade "Old Timer" knives last weekend. Got a 15OT "Deerslayer" and a 152 "Sharpfinger" for 5 bucks. A little polish and they should clean up just fine. She threw in a Chinese blade that I took to work for utility purposes.
I also found three 6-packs of Maxell XLII-S 100 cassettes at Goodwill. I was going to pull out the Nak 582 and do some recording, but decided to let the wife sell them instead for some mad money when we go to Phoenix next week.

I have a Sansui with a beautiful case. It doesn't work but it looks really nice.

I've had a Schrade 'Old Timer' in my pocket for the last 25 years. Well made pocket knives, I'm on my second one.

It is a 1000x.
I fixed it once, with quite a bit of help from the guys at AK.
It was a bad driver board that took out a couple of output transistors. (Or vice-versa?)
So, I scrounged up a good board from a guy on ebay and ordered new transistors from Mouser. (Yes, they had them. Same numbers, same manufacturer; Toshiba.)
It worked GREAT for about a week, then the sound just went completely dead. Lights come up---no sound. No obvious damage, all of my solder joints testing good.
I just didn't feel like bothering with it anymore after that. Had other projects to finish.

I found a Denon 5 disc changer at the local thrift. At 20 bucks it wasn't a steal, but it was in great shape, it had the remote and it sounded really good. It matches the Denon integrated that I gave my son, so I gave it to him. It looks like he needs more gear in his place.
Regards,
D-Ray

You mean 'Absolute Torch and Twang?' Just ran across that one a month ago. It's a keeper.
