The End of "Stop and Frisk"?

http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/...ional/?hpid=z3

Federal judge in N.Y. declares S&F racial profiling and a violation of constitutional rights.
Right on!

It's amazing that there are actually people who believe in the constitutionality of this practice.

I was reading about the underpinnings for these searches and it's obvious that New York was far exceeding the old "Terry stop" ruling rendered in 1968.

Also, it appears that AG Holder is taking on mandatory minimum sentencing as it relates to drug offense sentencing. I applaud him for finally doing this.
http://www.washingtonpost.com/world/...a_story_1.html

"Although the United States is home to 5 percent of the world’s population, almost a quarter of the world’s prisoners are incarcerated in American prisons, according to the Justice Department. More than 219,000 federal inmates are behind bars, and almost half of them are serving time for drug-related crimes.
An additional 9 million to 10 million people cycle through local jails in the United States each year. About 40 percent of former federal prisoners and more than 60 percent of former state prisoners are rearrested or have their supervision revoked within three years after their release, often for technical or minor violations of the terms of their release." For years, they've been training the police in methods to circumvent probable cause. This is far worse, as it's based on subjective suspicion.

Probably the same crowd that believe that to register a gun would violate their right to own one.

Suggesting something may be racist in nature or aspect now makes YOU the racist..........................

Don't you just love how that works?
