Not a expert here, have been told a second go round on knee replacements has a much higher rate of difficulty and failure.

From a full to a full, yes. From a partial to a full not so much. My father had both knees fully replaced twice. The first set only lasted about two years, the second lasted him the rest of his life.....about 30 years. Mine is a partial. And I was told that the meniscus only failed on the medial side of the right knee and the left meniscus is in fine shap for a man my age, so it was likely due to an old injury.
