I agree, the Pubbies should fold on this and accept the Donks demands for a CR.
They can claim they were Horatio at the bridge, gave it their best shot, and failed. They cannot, IMHO, win the government shutdown battle. The Donks know this, and the stupid party is playing into their hands.
Obama and the Donks are not going to compromise one inch. They LOVE the shutdown, because they figure they can shove it up the Pubbies asses sideways.
Furthermore, the Pubbies have taken the focus off of PPACA and placed it on the shutdown...for which they will be blamed.
The smart play would be to give the Donks all of the rope they want, and keep the focus on their agenda. That would be smart politics.

One could only hope that this sorry Tea Party spectacle will ultimately succeed in driving a stake through their hearts. However, there are precious few moderate Republicans left to take up the banner.

But, that could be a good thing, Pat. After the loonies destroy each other, ultimately, they leave a cabal of hardcore moderates to reinstate sanity in the GOP?
Could be.
We shall see.

Okay, "stubborn moderates".
What's the problem? Too many moving parts for ya?

I dunno, Pat. Maybe all of those poor souls who were victimized by the Koch funded mad hatters in the Tea party might still resurrect their political fortunes, once the dust settles from this misguided war on reason.

For the moment, the Teabaggers are too friggin' stupid to realize that they're losing the argument and thereby killing their own future as a political force. Idiocy has its price.

I read an absolutely, breathtakingly, sanctimonious and bizarre post by Mike Huckabee on his FaceBook page this morning, decrying the fact that Democrats (Including the POTUS.) are fighting back. He says it unfair and unprofessional to go around calling tea party republicans names and making fun of their crazed conspiracy theories and "...throwing childish temper tantrums"..................
Ummmmmm.................
Does the good Pastor not recall any of the 2009-2010 town hall meetings? Actually; Where has his head been the last five years? Squarely up his arse by my estimation.

Huckabee is just another self-righteous charlatan in a party full of them.
