Hope surgery is not required, just a little resting and taking it easy. When mine was acting up the Doctor filled me in on what to expect if going in a cutting. Not a good time so hope it is not anything that serious.

Hope it simply requires rest and therapy.

Do you have to put quarters in it?

Well, going to see an ortho. There's a small tear. Physical therapy is on hold.

That is what mine was. Gave me a sling and told me to rest it. Took what seemed to be forever to heal up. Luckily for me at the time the Naproxin hadn't started to eat up my stomach so it could help heal it up.

We're all stronger in the broken places. Thanks Barney for sharing your real world insight into my problem. I've been riffing on the physical therapy folks. I keep telling them that they'll have me up to a 100mph screwball once they're done. Lotsa laughs. One upside is I can type a whole lot faster than before. So, I guess I better work on my manners around here. Can't be chasing off the loyal opposition, heh-heh.

When the first doctor sent me to therapy, I tried it for over a week and was getting worse. The therapist then contacted the doctor that is when the MRI was ordered and the tear was then found. Getting use to the sling is tough when you are right handed and it is that arm.
I had a tough time sleeping, getting comfortable was hard.
Once it was healed I changed doctors, well fired that one. The new doctor just sent me to a sports rehab and they showed me how to do rubber band therapy. One visit that was all, gave me a supply of bands. A surgical rubber of some kind.
Worked good and did it all at home.
