Commented to my SO on that, I think it imparts credibility and George was never better tho otherwise IMO frequently much worse in his partisan advocacy.

He probably sees it as a safe way to gain cred with independents and moderate dems.

By the same token, Burns picks up some moderate right cred by featuring him.

Been watching it as painful as it has been for me to view. For my Mother was a HUGE FAN of FDR! She would always talk and say he was the ideal President!!! Wished all of our leaders could be like him.

DVR's are great and come in handy for sure! For I have to take it in small doses......

You know it is hard to fathom the depth of the feelings for those who were there.

Just talked to my uncle today who was at a gas station in Augusta Maine at 16 on 12/07/1941 and the ordeal he went through to enlist! Just how pissed he felt and he meant it! Enlisted as soon as he could and went. Like all back then did, something we here in the USA should understand and appreciate!

He just return from DC and a ceremony at the WWII Memorial and was humbled by the experience.

Ken knows how to tell the story.........

Good you still have your Uncle Ken around to tell the story Barney.

Pop only found out he was colorblind when he went down to sign up with the navy hoping for flight school. He ended up in the army, 10th AD 3rd Army in Europe.

My Uncles both color blind BTW on my Mother side ,,,, Served of course!

One a See Bee the other in a tank in N Africa with the Army ! Both wanted to be Marines but alas their failings prevented this...

Tough to see and remember the anguish in hearing them describe those feelings from the times. Hard to imagine now, and the thoughts of what our young would do or step up to!!!

I'm so afraid they would be lacking......

My oldest brother was army, next one to me was RCAF and my eventual bro-in-law was RCN so we had all three services covered. It all ended before I came of age.

The twits down hereabouts are in full campaign attack mode against "liberals". Like they'd willingly go back to kerosene lamps and battery powered radios.

I was disgusted by that.

George Will is a right wing prick.

He would not have been fit to shine FDR's shoes.

Every time they put his smug little face on I felt like smacking him.

Little hypocritical son of a bitch.
