When we got sucked into WWII we stood up and made the war machine happen. We tapped our own resources and kicked ass. We still have most all the resources we need right here in this country. We just need to start using them again and quit stealing it from other countries around the world.

We have Steel, Oil, Timber and most the other raw materials we need.. We keep saying we're saving it for a rainy day.. well how bad does this hurricane need to get before they realize "IT'S RAINING!"?

Re the emergence of radical muslims in control. Historically Afghanistan is difficult (why we should have left that to the Soviets), Iraq even and inspite of Bush's subterfuge we have manage to keep the radicals from power.

I figure with Libya it should be much easier with an educated and western looking population. Ironically Gaddafi did a fairly good job in modernising his infrastructure and providing secular education for both genders.

What we are doing also in Libya is keeping the radicals close in our "sight".

It seems that the blockade was legal, but the methods they use to enforce it were not.

It's kinda like saying that the cop legally pulled you over for speeding, but was excessive when he gave you three warning shots to the back of the head instead of a ticket.

If you've seen the footage, those soldiers were very surprised when attacked by pipes etc. They were not expecting violence.

I'm curious - what should a US soldier do if attacked?
