Not our problem. BTW, the Egyptians aren't the only ones in the world pissed at Israel. Pretty much everyone but us is.

Virtually every Muslim country has a radical Muslim fringe, even the peaceful, friendly ones (Turkey, Indonesia). Similarly, we have a conservative Christian evangelical fringe (and Mormons) wishing to convert others to their beliefs.

Yup, but none of the countries you mention are just clawing their way out of a revolution....

The US knows that. I believe we are much smarter now than we were in Afghan/Soviet times. We went to bed with Bin Laden then. I bet we have guys on the ground in Libya getting intelligence and making sure this thing goes our way.

How you figure that? They totally screwed up both Iraq and Afghanistan.

BTW I noticed that the media has not commented on the appearence of the prisoners involved in the recent 1000:1 swap. The arabs all looked pretty healthy whereas the Israeli looks like death warmed over. Says a lot about the arabs humanitarian principles.

Turkey peacefully sends blockade runners to another country? That's an act of war. I realise that Israel has been bombing Turkey

Many arabs hate the Jews. They'd kill them all and celebrate.

True enough, Erik. But's what's the alternative? We couldn't rely indefinitely on despots running the Middle Eastern countries in a fashion that kept their people down while acquiescing to our foreign policy desires. It just isn't sustainable (or just).

Why not? That's been US policy for decades! Works great in Saudi Arabia.

The "blockade" was in international waters and the ship contents were humanitarian. Spin it as you wish, but Israel and the US are the only ones who thought what Israel did was right.

Of course, the keeping of despots in power has nothing to do with Islamic terrorism, 9/11, etc. they just did that cause they hate democracy, our freedoms, etc...
