'Up against the wall' is a phrase that comes to mind.

Right. Price was $16.00 or something, then he raises it to $750. So if he drops it he's a nice guy? What's he dropping it to? $650? Is he really shook up and dropping it to $350?

Anything over $20.00 and he's still slime.

OK. I read what he's saying. He doesn't give a figure and he's really promising nothing--he just says they expect a determination to be made over the next few weeks. I say he's just shoveling it.

And then there's this bit: "We'll know in several weeks how profitable the drug is, if it at all," Shkreli said in the NBC News interview. "It may turn out that's it not even profitable at all, even at this price."

Hear that? He's saying ~Give me too much shit, and I'll just shut down production because it's 'not profitable,' and everybody can just die.~

'Slime' doesn't even come close, I'm thinking....

They should introduce the concept of open source to all drugs once a patent runs out.
Plus if I was the AG I would let it be known that violation of the license would not be prosecuted, just as marijuana sales are not being prosecuted in Colorado. If the assholes sue no jury is going to convict in their favor. I wouldn't. Well if I was king of America that is how I would handle this.

Yes, and this sounds more and more like a "to be continued". But there is hope.
Quote:
For one, sustained public engagement with the pharmaceutical industry can, in fact, be efficacious. In the midst of the outrage directed at Shkreli and Turing, Rodelis Therapeutics lowered the price of its recently acquired tuberculosis drug Cycloserine from $10,800 for 30 capsules back down to $500. Shkreli’s Tuesday night announcement is the second victory for consumer outcry in as many days. The FDA cannot control “the prices charged for marketed drugs” but apparently Twitter can.

We could have used a similar level of social media passion for any number of cases in which generics received price hikes last year, some of them, as The Wall Street Journal reports, increasing anywhere between 1,000 and over 17,000 percent. This trend prompted a probe by lawmakers led by Senator Bernie Sanders but it did not become a trending topic on Twitter.
Hoping Bernie Sanders can give this topic new life.

This moron is trying to justify his price hike by saying that the drugs were not effectual...what a load crap. His other defense is that the hike would further research and development for a better alternative...never mind he is screwing over the patients he is supposedly so concerned about...plus he has not funded an ounce of research.
What a jerk.
