Trump's Laffable Trickle Down Populism

'Trump in Missouri Lays Groundwork for Tax Overhaul but Offers No Details'

"SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — President Trump on Wednesday pitched a sweeping tax overhaul that he said would unleash the American economy and help ordinary people, promising that a large corporate tax cut and trims to individual income tax rates would boost the middle class.
The president wrapped his message in the populist rhetoric that powered his presidential campaign. But he described a plan that on its surface appears to offer relatively little to ordinary Americans, granting instead huge tax cuts — “the biggest ever,” he said — to corporations and their shareholders." NYT

Trump recycles and rewraps debunked 'trickle down' economics in some populist horseshit in Missouri today. Makes you wonder if he likes to open a window when he's in his gaudy gold encrusted apartment in Trump Towers and take a leak on the little people down below. Wouldn't surprise me one bit.

Republicans slip into a ‘predictable spiral’

Quote:
First, a Harvey recovery bill without the spending “offsets” so many Republicans demanded of previous bills. Then, a debt-limit increase, possibly secured with promises to spend more money on defense (which would buy GOP votes) and domestic priorities (for Democratic votes). Next, a spending deal that busts previously agreed budget caps by allowing an extra $70 billion or so for an “Overseas Contingency Operations” slush fund. Eventually, a reckless tax cut doesn’t seem so crazy — particularly with midterm elections looming and no accomplishments to show.

When it rains, it pours.
In other words this is a spend and reduce taxes while at it plan.

Why not? Convincing working class people that the government was stopping them from becoming instant billionaires worked for Reagan.

Nice pun in the thread title, by the way.

Donald wants to run the government the same way he runs his business. Tell everybody your plan, leave out the details...and in the end when the bill comes due it's easier to buttfuck everybody.
