Yup. Caught with his pants down and tried to rationalize. If a company wanted to hire me to defend it against unfair labor practice charges, I would not take the case. However, if a court appointed me to represent someone accused of rape, I would not risk contempt by refusing the appointment, although I would advise the court that it was appointing someone with no experience in criminal law.
