It seems to me that the GOP wants their voters to elect personalities instead of professionals. By professionals I mean public servants who want to do the job of serving their constituents. Professionals who understand what it is to serve those constituents. Republican voters seem keyed to respond to candidate popularity. Just my two-cents worth.
