My favorite version of "Ohio". Speaking of that song, in Ken Burns "The Vietnam War" Episode 8, the episode ended with the story of the Kent State massacre. It was so disturbing and infuriating to watch it even all those years later. The episode credits immediately followed and Burns used "Ohio" as the music track for the credits. It broke me down.

Nantucket Sleighride by Mountain turned up to 11 and a half. Tubes rule.

I was a huge Mountain fan back during my college years and still have several of their LP's including that one. Great stuff. Leslie West didn't have the appearance of a guitar God, but he mostly certainly was one.

First concert I actually bought a ticket to was Mountain at Merriweather Post Pavillion in '70, IIRC. Steppenwolf came out afterwards and stood around like they were lost. John Kay looked like he should've passed on whatever Felix Papalardi was smoking with Les.

Those were the daze, my friend. IIRC Heather from AK was at that concert. Fun times.
