Insanity by definition is....

http://www.npr.org/2012/07/09/156474...ct?ft=1&f=1001

...repeating an act and expecting a different outcome but thirty one times?

I wonder just how much time and money these Repubs are wasting on this fruitless endeavor? Something to think about come election time. We have 242 Neros all playing violins while their constituents suffer.

Time for some diaper changing.

It's all they're capable of - meaningless, symbolic votes.

I don't understand why they hate their own ideas with such venomous fervor.
(Actually, I do. But, I don't want to derail the thread.)

With all due respect to the broad spectrum of political opinion extant the nation the Republican Party has become a caricature of itself. And try as I might to remain objective about this incessant opposition to all things Obama my gut speaks too clearly to characterize it in any way but one. And I too will remain silent rather than derail the thread.

I think my opinion is well known enough that I need not repeat it here.

When you reach the point where you are no longer considering an idea but are dismissing it immediately due to source, you've lost objectivity.

Have I been guilty before? Sure. (I try not to be.)

I don't think the Republican Party even tries, anymore.

I heard some Talking Head Analysis this morning that said this and any other Congressional votes between now and the election (including Obama's efforts to repeal Dubya's tax cuts for those earning over $250K) are nothing other than fodder for upcoming campaign commercials.

The vote referred to in the OP is a new effort to characterize those who oppose it as being in support of a huge tax increase (as the GOP now characterizes PPACA) just as Obama's effort is to characterize the GOP as being beholden to millionaires. Politics as usual, it seems to me.

Yeah political theatre, just like all those Republican governors who want to withhold the free Medicaid funds from their own citizens within their respective states once the act starts to go into effect. When the big hospitial chains start to clamor for the Medicaid funds simply because it makes it much easier for them to operate and make money the Governors will silently change their tunes. The PPACA is very important to the hospitals,
a big business by the way.

C'mon now. What is this derail you speak of? (sheepish grin)
