Linux?

I have Windows 7 32 bit on my desktop and Windows 10 64 bit on my regular duty laptop. I can't say I like either of them all that much and like 7 better than 10. (I like XP better than either.)

I've got a spare laptop, not a terrific one but it works very well. Right now it has XP Pro 32 bit on it but it's capable of running Windows 7 32 bit. Not sure it's worth upgrading though.

I seem to recall that a couple PC members use one or the other flavor of Linux and that they like it. That made me think about the possibility of installing a Linux based OS, like maybe Mint, on the spare laptop to see whether I like it better than the newer Windows versions.

So, what do you guys like/dislike about Linux? Which versions do you rate higher? Are these easy to learn and use? Any advice?

Thanks!
