I think we need to do whatever it takes to increase voter turnout, not decrease it like the GOP wants to.

But of course high turnout scares the shit out of the GOP.

I think he was better than Thomas or Scalia....but I read the Brethern way back then. I do not think the Burger Court was as bad as the right wing clowns we have now.

I think compulsory voting would be a violation of the First Amendment. Plus it would really make people mad. Imagine ALL the angry baggers being forced to vote. Then they would complain about how demographically they could not win elections anymore because EVERYONE was being forced to vote against the GOP by force of law...........

hey you got a point there Tom

I'd strap on some Depends and stand in line with a load of Cleveland Steamer all day if I had to.

If someone asked "What's that smell?", I'd reply, "I brought my Republican friend with me. His name is Limbaugh. Wanna meet him?"

If I recall correctly voting is mandatory in Australia. But they also provide an op out on the ticket "none of the above"

Can you imagine a "none of the above" on a ticket here in the land of "voting for the least evil person on the ticket"?
