Bernie Sanders Blocks Obama’s FDA Nominee for Big Pharma Ties
Atta Boy Bernie!
In your face Obummer!

Quote:
Today, Bernie Sanders made his opposition to Presiden't Obama's Food and Drug Administration nominee, Dr. Michael Califf, well-known and announced that he is formally blocking the pick.
Sanders announced the hold on Califf’s appointment to head the FDA, identifying his close ties to Big Pharma.
“Dr. Califf’s extensive ties to the pharmaceutical industry give me no reason to believe that he would make the FDA work for ordinary Americans, rather than just the CEOs of pharmaceutical companies,” Sanders said in an official statement.

Not a smart move to try to sneak a Big Pharma Toadie in as head of the FDA when you think everybody is distracted by the election. Who's advising Obummer?

I'm not entirely sure about that. Bernie's base will love it. Also, Obama has been leaning toward Hillary lately so I doubt Bernie would have received much support during the primaries anyway. And, should Bernie win the nomination, Obama will campaign for Bernie just as hard as he would for Clinton.

It's the Obama supporters that will object. Obama is soft peddling his support for any candidate. Sorry if that wasn't clear.

I voted for Obama twice, but there are a number of things he did that were big disappointments for me. Like how cozy he has been with Big Pharma.

Quite frankly I don't want another Obama in the White House. I want a real Democrat who doesn't cave to the powerful and use the "I am a pragmatist" excuse.

So, basically, you want Jimmy Carter? Great (sarcasm)...
Bernie is dead on Super Tuesday and leadership is pragmatism.

The big disappointment for me is his cozy relationship with big insurance companies.

Nothing new there but I happy to see Bernie is paying attention.
