Pres. Obama inherited an economy in freefall after 8 years of Republican malfeasance. After 75 straight months of positive job numbers we are at 4.7% unemployed and the Dow went from a smoking ruin in the 6,000s to almost 20,000.
If that's failure? Please give us some more.

The underlying factors that caused the markets to crash during the Bush administration were not addressed by the Obama administration. You're 20K Dow is mostly hot air.

Just finished this week's 2 hour PBS Frontline. Reminded me to the opposition put forth by the GOP/Tea Party to Obama. So they I feel are the ones responsible for the lack of good preventive measures. Dodd Frank did get passed but I fear is circling the bowl.

So, stock holders are making money.
Meantime, wages are the same as they were 15 years ago.
Exactly who did he help ?

I am touched by your newfound concern for people who work for someone else.

Allow me to correct you. Wages are the same as they were 40 years ago for the bottom 50% of our countries wage earners. While the corporations that pay those wages make billions in profits.

Wages and prices can't rise forever. You can throw out stats like your post above, it may only be part of the story. There's also been some deflation in cost of goods and services that offset some, not all, of the impact. Its certainly not an ideal scenario, but neither is uncontrolled inflation.

Exactly. But, if it suits Blob's defense of Obama it's all good.

If I remember correctly, cost of living (inflation) figures don't include energy or food prices...for some political reason.....
But thank you for that graph.

Which point? The one where you asserted that wage earners are a lower class of citizen, or the one where you forgot your previous assertion?
By the way, union wages have gone up. I am not satisfied with the priority Obama placed on passing the card-check legislation, but greater unionization would be a huge step toward overcoming income disparity. I also have more hope for workers' chances of making wage progress in an economy with under 5% unemployment than one with over 8%.
