Hammond performs a few Robert Johnson numbers, joined by a couple of old Delta Blues players, as well as some of the very few recordings of Robert Johnson. A word I like to use for music I like is "authentic." The music in this piece certainly qualifies. It amazes me how many of his songs I have heard covered over the years.

I think I saw that docu some time ago. It is said that many did not like Johnson because he had a way with the women of other men. My memory
is kinda foggy here.

Captain America, Winter Soldier.

Meh. I liked the original despite it being a little much, but the sequel only gets 5 out of 10, maybe 5.5, ok I guess but I wouldn't buy it.

Young Man with a Horn: KIRK DOUGLAS, DORIS DAY, LAUREN BACALL.

Enjoyed seeing and hearing Doris Day singing some jazz standards.

I fell in love with her again.

When our oldest granddaughter was about seven our Son had her out to dinner at a restaurant. She was doodling on a paper napkin with crayons and the waitress being kindly said how pretty the doodle was. Maddy gave her the napkin saying "You may have it it is a Jackson Pollock". I hear that the school has both girls on advanced programs.

Just watched 'Robocop' on disk. Picked it up at the library, thought it was the 1987 classic, but it turned out to be the 2014 remake. For the most part, came off as Robocop Lite, lacking much of the satiric irony, and most of the ultraviolence, of the original. The big action scenes were surreal, unsatisfying shoot-all-the-targets videogame sequences.

But get it and watch it for the all-too-believable and all-too-horrifying scenes of Samuel L. Jackson as a slick Rush Limbaugh of the future. These bits are brilliant!

Jeremiah Johnson: ROBERT REDFORD

Reconnected with this film and it was tonic.

As a city dweller I was awed by the sheer beauty of Utah's landscape.
