You can't get into voting machines directly, in general. But each voting machine is initialized on election day with a software load prepared for that election. Given county-level IT budgets, that software is liable to live on some crappy Windows 98 machine....

Nobody should be allowed to burn the American flag - if they do, there must be consequences - perhaps loss of citizenship or year in jail!

I thought that @CNN would get better after they failed so badly in their support of Hillary Clinton however, since election, they are worse!

The Great State of Michigan was just certified as a Trump WIN giving all of our MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN supporters another victory - 306!

Don's gonna have to back off on the first one.

The other two are OK by me.

And two out of three ain't bad.

Your vain-glorious manchild should stop acting like a jilted 9th grade girl.

He isn't. That's all in your mind.

Thank God we don't do anything like that. When we want to change leadership in another country we just orchestrate a coup, or better yet, invade their asses.

Noam Chomsky calls William Blum's classic, Killing Hope: U.S. Military and CIA Interventions since World War II, "Far and away the best book on the topic." If you're looking for historical context for what you are reading or watching on TV about the coup in Ukraine, Killing Hope will provide it. The title has never been more apt as we watch the hopes of people from all regions of Ukraine being sacrificed on the same altar as those of people in Iran (1953); Guatemala(1954); Thailand (1957); Laos (1958-60); the Congo (1960); Turkey (1960, 1971 & 1980); Ecuador (1961 & 1963); South Vietnam (1963); Brazil (1964); the Dominican Republic (1963); Argentina (1963); Honduras (1963 & 2009); Iraq (1963 & 2003); Bolivia (1964, 1971 & 1980); Indonesia (1965); Ghana (1966); Greece (1967); Panama (1968 & 1989); Cambodia (1970); Chile (1973); Bangladesh (1975); Pakistan (1977); Grenada (1983); Mauritania (1984); Guinea (1984); Burkina Faso (1987); Paraguay (1989); Haiti (1991 & 2004); Russia (1993); Uganda (1996);and Libya (2011). This list does not include a roughly equal number of failed coups, nor coups in Africa and elsewhere in which a U.S. role is suspected but unproven.

Have you read Killing Hope I haven't. I saw the titles of his other books. I think he is very biased. He certainly presents himself this way. It makes it very hard for me to consider him objective.

He is biased.

Doesn't change the fact that the US is always meddling in the internal affairs of other countries. And we go way beyond trying to influence elections. If we don't like another counties leader we fucken kill em and install someone we do like.

So when you say, "Oh, they would hack our elections if they could" I wanted to point out that that would be small shit compared to what we do.

Where did you see vindictiveness in the content of those tweets?

I think your problem is that it doesn't seem like a bad thing, to you, but you know 'vindictiveness' is a word for a bad thing.

1. Desire to impose a harsh punishment on person making a symbolic statement.

2. Desire to dis CNN, presumably because of unfavorable commentary.

1. I don't think a desire to impose penalty for desecrating our national symbol rises to vindictiveness though. How is he seeking revenge in promoting a law? He doesn't even know who will break that law yet, if it gets written and passed. Further, he can't write laws anyway.

2. You may have something here. If he is in fact looking to cause CNN anguish or hurt, it may well be in revenge for their bias. I say his vindictiveness is vindicated by their vindictiveness. I see it more as using the bully pulpit (though it's not officially his pulpit yet) to effect change in a clearly broken media. Obama didn't hesitate to belittle Fox.
