Egypt has been primed for years
The turmoil in Egypt didn't magically erupt just a week ago, it had been heavily primed for 2 or 3 years.
The Muslin Brotherhood's de-facto spiritual leader is Yusuf Qaradawi and he has a following of about 80 million Muslims.
Qaradawi has been spewing rhetoric like this since 2009 or earlier (SCARY STUFF):
"Oh Allah, take this oppressive, tyrannical band of people. Oh Allah, take this oppressive, Jewish, Zionist band of people. Oh Allah, do not spare a single one of them. Oh, Allah, count their numbers and kill them, down to the very last one." http://www.jihadwatch.org/2009/01/mu...t-spare-a.html
" Throughout history, Allah has imposed upon the (Jews) people who would punish them for their corruption. The last punishment was carried out by Hitler. By means of all the things he did to them - even though they exaggerated this issue - he managed to put them in their place. This was divine punishment for them. Allah willing, the next time will be at the hand of the believers." http://sheikyermami.com/2009/02/02/s...o-punish-them/
80,000,000 followers is a lot of people! Why is Obama apaprently in support of the Muslim Brotherhood's bid to assume power in Egypt if Mubarak steps down?
This last one is long, but you really need to watch it in its entirity . . . http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-BH5S...eature=related

Well, if you really want to trace the rift between Judeo-Christian and Muslim culture you can go a lot further than 2-3 years.
Is this an attempt to blame all of this on one man? Nice try. Won't work.

Much of what the MB believes comes from the writings of one man Qtob (or Q-tip) who was a flaming misogynist, racist, anti-semite who hated everyone.

Damn. That guy sounds like a nut. He must be a graduate of the Pat Robertson School of Theology.

It is not Obama supporting the MB, the guy Mubarak appointed as prime minister is saying he will only talk to the MB, he refuses to talk to elBaradi or any of the other leaders. Fortunately the MB will not talk to him while Mubarak remains in office.

It's not just a matter of blame, if someone eloquent enough tells people with a grievance what they want to hear, he'll get a following. A following can be like a wart. Left to its own devices it may fall away, but if you worry at it without killing it, it'll only get bigger. It's a hell of a generalization, but in the main followers don't think, they let the man in the front do their thinking for them. then turn on anyone who questions "the leader".

It will definitely work. The region is now in week one of dramatic change beyond anything that preceded it. This guy, and quite singularly, is the catalyst.

Funny, the NeoCons are trying to give Dubya credit for it. Really.
