The perception of such a crime is a different one when it happens in the village of Villingendorf in the Black Forest and not in the Megacity of Chicago; Illinois. Edwin, our perception regarding to guns is a different one since the right to own a gun is not an essential part of our National idendity. America's society is mentally sick, I wish it was not so.

Here's something. We don't register guns. Congress and the NRA will NOT stand for that! Registering guns is absolutely forbidden. But--we do trace guns. When guns are found at crime scenes, we trace them, find out who bought them.

Since we don't register guns, how the heck do we do that? With great difficulty, at an underfunded back office of the ATF. Without computers.

Read the saga of the gun tracers. https://www.gq.com/story/inside-fede...-many-guns/amp

From The Onion:

FAIRFAX, VA—In the aftermath of a shooting in Las Vegas that left at least 58 people dead and more than 500 wounded, National Rifle Association officials said Monday that mass shootings are just the unfortunate price of protecting people’s freedom to commit mass shootings. “What happened in Las Vegas is a horrific tragedy, but it’s sadly the inevitable cost of safeguarding the rights of Americans to perpetrate such horrific tragedies,” said NRA executive vice president Wayne LaPierre, adding that defending the constitutional right to commit mass murder meant accepting that mass murders were occasionally going to happen.

Pat Robertson attributes the Vegas shootings to a lack of respect for authority, including his Trumpenfuhrer.

Everybody who wants a gun, get's one. In Nevada you can buy one as easily as you can buy a donut. Just for the record - everybody who really wants a gun in Germany, can get one as well, but it is much more difficult. We have 30 million illegal weapons.
The horrifying events in Las Vegas on Sunday night mark the 273rd mass shooting in the U.S. in the 275 days that have passed so far in 2017, according to Gun Violence Archive.

A mass shooting is defined by Gun Violence Archive as any incident in which "four or more [are] shot and/or killed in a single event, at the same general time and location not including the shooter."

That seems like a pretty expansive definition. A "mass shooting" is typically an event where the shooter lacks a primary target: any person within the shooter's line of sight is a target. It puts, for example, a gang - related attack in the same bucket as what happened in Vegas.

It also looks like they're including the terrorist attack in Orlando. I don't think I'd put that in the same bucket.

The most basic universal principle is the principle of change (see also the "Yi Ching"). Everything in our universe is in change. Except change itself. And American gun laws.
