Didn't say that, did I? More failure to comprehend on your part. You really need to go back and read the article you posted again. The key take-away is this sentence:

"Unfortunately, it's a zero-sum game now between China and the rest of the world, and what we need to do as a country is to work with the rest of the world" to ensure prosperity and high stock markets, he said.

And this one is just as relevant:

"We have to defend ourselves," Navarro said, citing alleged Chinese theft of U.S. intellectual property on technology. "They're attacking our crown jewels. They make no bones about it."

So the phrase "zero sum game" is being applied to China's trade practices / policies, not ours.

You ever been on a business trip to China? If not, talk to anyone who has it would be potentially an eye-opening experience for you. You have to take anything with information on it - devices, laptops, files, etc. - with you. If you leave it in the hotel room, you'll come back to find that someone has been through it, scanned the content of the files or devices, and likely copied anything of perceived value. A member of our delegation thought she could leave her laptop hidden in her hotel room because she got tired of hauling it around. Sure enough, when she got back, her laptop had been found, turned on and likely searched. And someone likely knew she left it behind because our delegation was watched / escorted at all times. There is almost no concept of intellectual property in China.

The exact same thing happens routinely in the USSR/Russia and yes, I've been there and have seen it first-hand. That has no bearing on the idiocy of zero-sum game trade policy.

I think our boy Whell has actually convinced himself that Donny doesn’t lie, to hell with every evidence to the contrary. He could take Ugly Sarah’s job when she finally burns out.

Trump's Economic Illiteracy Has Deep Roots
In Trump's mind, America loses when it buys too much. And it loses when we sell too.

The libertarians sure don’t think much of Whell’s idol.

‘Eye-popping’ payouts for CEOs follow Trump’s tax cuts
The insider sales feed the narrative that corporate tax cuts enrich executives in the short term while yielding less clear long-term benefits for workers.

I’m shocked! Shocked!

Donny, the GOP and Whell all assured us this would be great for Joe Worker...

WASHINGTON — The Trump administration is considering bypassing Congress to grant a $100 billion tax cut mainly to the wealthy, a legally tenuous maneuver that would cut capital gains taxation and fulfill a long-held ambition of many investors and conservatives.

I bet our resident cultist thinks this is a good idea.

Self dealing continues.

Trump administration considers tax cut for the wealthy
Quote:
The Treasury Department is considering a tax cut for the wealthiest Americans through a change that would not need approval from Congress, officials said, a move that would follow a package of tax cuts last year that also benefited the super-rich.

The agency is studying whether to allow investment income, known as capital gains, to be adjusted for inflation in a way that shields more of it from taxation. Most capital gains are paid by wealthier Americans, who disproportionately hold large portfolios of investments.

But the use of executive power on such a significant change to the tax law would be highly unusual and could be vulnerable to a legal challenge. Senior administration officials have discussed whether to proceed but have not concluded they have legal authority to do so. The move was rejected during the George H.W. Bush administration because it was seen as outside the scope of Treasury’s authority and only attainable via an act of Congress.

My annual unrealized cap gains have far outstripped my annual salary for years now, so I should be all for this, especially with retirement on the horizon. If this were a normal Republican administration, I might even be in favor. With this corrupt administration, though, every proposal is highly suspect. Something stinks in Denmark.

It has bearing on Chick's post, and the content in the new item he linked to. Please try to keep up if you're going to comment on a post not addressed to you.

Your misogynistic observations aside, please point me to a politician that doesn't lie.
