USS John McCain Collides With A Merchant Vessel
"SEOUL — Ten U.S. Navy sailors were missing and five were injured after the USS John S. McCain guided missile destroyer and an oil tanker three times its size collided near Singapore early Monday.
American and Singaporean ships and helicopters launched a search-and-rescue mission after the pre-dawn collision at the entrance to one of the world’s busiest shipping lanes." WP

Saw this.
Again, htf is this possible with radar and radio with universal hailing freqs, and rules of navigation?

I wonder if the Navy is being hacked.
Once is happenstance,
Twice is coincidence,
Three times is enemy action.
We're at twice.

I remember the Andrea Doria and the Stockholm, another older example of seagoing clusterfuckery.

I remember my first ship, a tin can (destroyer), almost ran over a sailboat off Cape Hatteras at night. That collision alert is not something you want to hear.

It's worse than that.
Now we have two guided missile destroyers out of commission in the area.
Something is wrong in the 7th Fleet.

Clear weather, early morning light or low light, assuming everyone had their lights on, no suggestions of foul play or equipment failure as yet. Hmmmm....
There are internationally recognized procedures for avoiding collisions at sea. At some point, you have to wonder if those basic procedures are being followed, or how much the Navy crews are drilling on those procedures.

There you go again, supporting the spread of fake news from poorly sourced articles.
http://www.politico.com/story/2017/0...llision-241849
President Donald Trump on Sunday called the collision between the U.S. Navy guided missile destroyer USS John S. McCain and a tanker that left at least 10 sailors missing “too bad” before tweeting support for the sailor's families.
“That’s too bad,” the president said when asked about the incident, according to a pool report.

There you go again, apologizing for the Idiot-in-Chief. I trust the White House pool reporters more than I trust your silly revisionism. Do you have any reputable sources saying that he didn't do so?
Even Breitbart admits he did it, but blames McMaster.
