Changing The Face Of Government, Two Bills At A Time
Republican brain trust and political reformer Paul Ryan has been in Congress for 13 years. During that time he has succeeded in gaining passage of two bills. Here they are.
1. July, 2000: A bill to rename a post office branch in his district "Les Aspin Post Office Building". Les Aspin was a Democrat who served 11 terms in the US House from Ryan's district.
2. December, 2008: A bill to amend the tax code as it applies to the Federal excise tax on arrows, arrow points and bow hunting accessories. Ryan is an avid bow hunter.
This is what passes for a "political heavyweight" in the Republican Party these days?
