My understanding is that Government employees are not eligible for SS, hence the retirement package.

Dear old dad says force all government employees including elected onto SS and watch how fast they fix it.

I know someone on a State pension and they get SS.

Space program, it's a bit backwards. Invest in space, have enough for early retirement and subsidies for food and gas, things that effect the poor the most.
