The war the republicans have always wanted has begun

I have felt for years the GOP was a party in search of a Dictator. Due to their "my way or the highway" tactics in governing. States like Indiana Kansas Kentucky Michigan and so on, the GOP gains control and ram their agenda down the throats or the citizens.

My hope is in our country being strong enough to weather the coming assault by the right. The youth of this country will be the deciding factor. For like in my youth there was an unpopular war going on and a draft. It was the youth once awoken that forced a change upon the establishment. I see the majority of the young today, not much for sacrifices and hard work. So will they roll over and accept the new wave or fight back? Only time will tell.

Way longer than that. McCarthy and the various Red Scares of the 20s, 30s, 40s and 50s were the right trying to scaremonger the sheep into compliance.

Yeah, but the left was making progress right up until Nixon got elected. then the tide changed and the country has been moving rightward ever since. Slow at first, but gaining in momentum all along.
