In the political silly season, I reaction far more to behavior/actions than words. I just think it's silly to make a big issue of terms such as anchor baby or illegal alien. I'm OK with whomever wishing to call them that to do so, just as I'm comfortable with others using their terms. I still don't know a widely recognized alternative to "anchor baby," not that I'm really seeking it.

It is best to simply not make denigrating remarks about the reproduction of 'others.' Doing so makes it pretty much unavoidable to press fear and loathing buttons.

If you don't like some effects of birthright citizenship, say what they are. You can do this, I'm sure, without making babies the object of ire, or implying that 'those people' use their spawn as social hardware.

I'm not sure that those babies, at the moment of delivery, understand English.
