ok close enough for me to grasp onto. But anything can be instituted the same as they did the present plan, without changing our goverments structure,Why cant we adopt a bit at a time a roll out ,incorporate the VA ,Medicare And every other health institution into state operated with subsidy from the feds, start at the retired level and work backwords,I know this would be a monumental task.but at this point something has to happen. And It is not gonna be a changing Bosses type repair It needs to have a major overhaul.

Shut down all other shit till we fix this .this is the single most important thing at the moment.Like they say "get you own house in order before you try and help someone else"

Unforunately the Robert's court allowed states to opt out of increased Medicaid so we still do not have a universal plan, it varies from state to state. We can have a single nation or we can have states rights but we can't have both.

If it were up to me, Rob, the only responsibility state governments would have in this country would be ceremonial. Welcoming foreign dignitaries, cutting ribbons on new roads and bridges, etc.

And, IMO, the pathetic situation with education in this country (certainly on a par with the pathetic condition of health care) is all about individual municipal, county, and state boards of education having control over curriculum (I know...let's teach fucking Genesis in science class), books/materials, and teacher staffing.

Also...as far as states rights is concerned, it's where conservatives and Republicans show their most blatant hypocrisy. It's all about states rights with them, right up until it bumps up against issues like gay marriage, and then it's all about the federal Defense Of Marriage Act.
