I wonder what will happen when the Republican Party no longer controls the White House, Senate, or House. I see potential for violent civil unrest.

They'll never take the White House again. At least not until I am long dead and buried. But they are in denial on that.
Citizens United will buy them some time with the House and Senate.
Plus they have the House pretty well Gerrymandered.
That'll buy them some time.
And they have a natural advantage with the Senate as it gives two seats to every state, which makes those small rural backwaters more powerful than they should be.
Then they own the Supreme court until one of those five Fascist Gasbags craps out and gets replaced.
So it's going to be a while before they are finally toothless politically.
But that day is coming.

I do too. The Nevada thing was a bit of a foretaste. If the elections are going to be so out of reach that the money guys can't buy them, they naturally start to think about other means.

Even it they're forced into it kicking and screaming, the GOP will ultimately adapt. Nobody will be better off with the Dems getting complete control of government, just as we'd be poorly served with a GOP monopoly.

In this case, they would no longer be the party of Reagan. Can they scrub off the NeoCon stench?
As things currently stand I think we are being poorly served by a bipartisan power sharing monopoly.

Doing nothing (as we're doing now) due to partisan gridlock might well be less harmful than giving a monopoly to either party would be. At least that's what I try to tell myself when I get thoroughly disgusted by the status quo. However, I think we're stuck with the status quo (Dem in WH, GOP Congress (in part or total)) at least another 4-6 years.

Interesting superb related article at Huffpo today on a related topic, "How Ted Cruz and Michelle Bachman get away with it".

Easy
tell the Big Lie on TV and then run like hell from reporters who follow asking the for the truth.
Bachman is known for lying on the floor of Congress and then running from reporters refusing to answer questions about the "truthfulness" of her statements.
They are modern day Joseph McCarthys.

All the conservative screams of liberal bias in the media has essentially compelled the media to treat both sides of each argument equally, even when the GOP puts forth some ridiculous argument only viable to the most crazed 'Bagger or Birther.

Have you noticed the deafening silence about Benghazi lately? When they get caught being full of crap, they simply stop talking about it. It takes their followers about 3 minutes to forget.
