We want our coal back!

So, during the primary in West Virginia, both Hillary and Trump kinda sorta promised unemployed coal miners that they would do whatever they can to bring back coal jobs.

Does anyone else here believe their full of crap? And that they really shouldn't have said anything more than advise those people to either find some other way to make their living...............or move?

See, growing up during the collapse of the steel industry taught me that there is nothing more pathetic than people sitting on their asses at the local bar, moaning about their dead steel mill and voting for some lyin' ass politician who claims he/she can make it rain high paying jobs......

They usually just slowly drink themselves to death waiting.

I mean, really. F**k coal. Good riddance to it. It's a heavy polluter, it's expensive and dangerous to mine and it's a finite resource. What do these people think Don and Hills are going to do? Replenish the earth with more coal so they can dig it back up?

For Pete sake, just move on.

Hillary's one sentence was taken out of context and I cannot figure out why unless the social media got hold of it and circulated it. Here is the whole text of her speech and where that one sentence has been played out.
Quote:
So for example, I'm the only candidate which has a policy about how to bring economic opportunity using clean renewable energy as the key into coal country. Because we're going to put a lot of coal miners and coal companies out of business, right?

And we're going to make it clear that we don't want to forget those people. Those people labored in those mines for generations, losing their health, often losing their lives to turn on our lights and power our factories.

Now we've got to move away from coal and all the other fossil fuels, but I don't want to move away from the people who did the best they could to produce the energy that we relied on.
So there it is, never thought I would defend Hillary but truth is truth. Hillary does not deserve to be knocked down on her 'coal industry' comment though I think it is too late. Damage has been done and it will not go away. She herself has apologized for that one sentence and that in fact reinforced it I believe.

Then I move on to something else.

Or, I could drown my self pity on a frigging barstool, blaming "Libtards" for my own sorry ass ineptitude, then go to a Trump rally and beg him to "get me my coffee back!"?

I see those folks around here. They want their coal mining jobs back and to hell with the environmental damage.

If your only pleasures in life are based on consumption, then you want what makes it possible. More than anything.
