However this Rabbi was on local TV (Channel 11) stating that he was going Kiev with the American delegation to bring some of the Jews to America...not to Israel.
In NY there is huge geriatric industry; a good section of which consist of Jewish refugees from the former Soviet Union. These were people who came here under the Jackson Amendment.

I note "a sizeable portion of the aged Jewish population in Ukraine," in your first alarming report, is now down to "some."
Keep me informed as the numbers firm up.

As did Ford Motor company and the Bush family.
Strip them as well?

The real question is why is this project being handed to a French company?

Isn't the Baltimore light rail (or DC's subway) Spanish? We're in the middle of building a light rail system here in Sonoma and Marin Counties. The rolling stock is coming from Japan.
We don't have a rail industry here any more. We walked away from it 60 years ago in favor of air and over-the-road transport.

Here, they are voting on extending the "Tide" light rail system to the ocean front. The elitists in Virginia Beach are still fighting it, but resistance gets weaker each time. We'll wear them down.
The new Amtrak station in Norfolk is completed linking Amtrak to the Tide. If we get the "Beach" extension done, that will link the Va. Beach Oceanfront to the rest of the east coast by rail. The hope is that this will relieve tourist season auto traffic.
We shall see.

Yep, the USA doesn't make the rolling stock for light rail or subway and certainly not for high-speed rail (hence the silliness behind high speed rail being job creators).

Oh, I dunno. No, there are no jobs in the manufacture of the rolling stock. There are probably no jobs in making the rails or sleepers either. That doesn't mean that there are no jobs though. There are jobs building the system. Then there are jobs operating and maintaining it once it's built. There's a societal benefit just from having and using the system, regardless of where the train actually came from. The guy who hires a crew to dig holes and another crew to fill them in is a "job creator" but where's the benefit to the society?

I suspect there's an ecological benefit to replacing all those commuter flights with high speed rail in California.
