Well, he sure couldn't do it on his mediocre playing performance. So, he found a different angle..... I can respect that. Although I'm not sure what God thinks of it.

If a person knelt and prayed at their place of work, they would probably hauled in to HR. This guys kneels on the turf as he plays football, he becomes a sensation. Football God's may be rolling their eyes.

I think you're probably right.

Right.
In my area, they have a 'moment of silence' before public meetings. Don't know about others, but that moment of silence always feels like prayer time to me.

The only time I was really impressed with a public prayer was when a former pitcher of the Indians, Oral Hershiser, beaned a guy in the head and knocked him to the ground. Oral immediately dropped to his knees. I think it was the only time I saw that spontaneously.

I figure one day I'll get a brown cat and name it Hersey.

LOL, Dave, it's a serious question. I ask it here because this group of guys and gals is the most reasoned and aware group of the net. I really respect your opinions on this.

It helps me solidify or rethink my own stance when I hear from guys like you.

Anyway violent games such as football really need prayers.
So you would recommend one be politically wise and turn the cheek as it were?

Dave

It comes off as show boating many times but it seems that those that wear God on their sleeve really believe that it is only right and natural to carry on in a group as if they are entitled and that anyone who might disagree is really a weirdo who is ignorant.

This is not what I am asking.

Let me be more direct.

If your kid represent a major public university in intercollegiate sport and before and after games they were compelled to pray in a team group, on the field, how would you feel? Would you react? If you would react, how would you react?
