The utilities need not complain, here in BG&E territory even though we buy our electricity from a different source, BG&E is allowed to bill us by the KWH for delivering it. Now in a month when we only burned 2500 KWH they charged $nn.nn. In a month when we burned5000 KWH they charged double. Yet I did not see any line trucks outside installing a bigger transformer, No one came and ran a heaveir cable up to our breaker box, Power utilities in this country are a bunch of theives.

I protest! This is just another bash-the-Kochs thread!

It is completely logical that everyone should be required to send the Kochs all their money, because otherwise they are freeloading on the Kochtopia infrastructure!

What do you expect? They are the biggest lobbying group to the PUC's. How hard to you think it is for them to come up with numbers to convince PUC's to raise rates? Nothing different than a scaled down fed or state government process.

Jenny Granholm did the same asinine thing here in MI. She decided that some 20+ percent of the power generated in MI must come from alternative sources. Hefty could cover that is typical in MI during the winter months precludes solar, so that leaves wind as the only alternative. Too bad wind isn't a reliable enough generation source to predictably offset any portion of the energy that the state needs to feed the grid. In the meantime, electric rates are going steadily northward.

These artificial state mandates on power generation are idiotic, and need to be repealed.
