The Armies: BY the Colombian author, EVELIO ROSERO.

Fiction: A Colombian town is caught up in an ugly, violent struggle.

Still reading "The Armies". Evelio Rosero can certainly paint a scene:

Robert Kennedy: In His Own Words

Imagine America without Watergate, Nixon and a substantially smaller Vietnam War Memorial on the Mall in D.C.

This is great, Icenine. I am on page 2486 now. Not a lot of progress currently because I started to read some chapters of the "Ulysses" again.

I read the entire "Ulysses" already two times since 1992. I am a "Ulysses" addict.

Well, there is a nice true story. Somebody organized a dinner with the linguist giant Joyce and the linguist giant Proust, I think it was in the early twenties in Paris. It was a disaster. None of the both talked anything. After about half an hour Joyce said his one and only sentence of that evening: "Your 'Recherche du temps perdu' is unknown to me". Some minutes later Proust replied: "I never read your "Ulysses' and will never do so." That was the end of the conversation and the dinner.

Yes I am going to have to read Ulyssees to after this. I found a copy of Dubliners at the thrift a few weeks back. But first I have to spend more time in the fin de siecle

I cannot figure out how to do the accent mark yet on the keyboard.

On an American English keyboard the shift key is to the right of the ?...it involves aiming your cursor over the letter and pushing the alt key and entering some code but no big deal thanks...
