Is the UAW the only union left, Pete?
Anyway, I thought you were the guy buying all that old "Detroit iron". How's that helping?
Oh, right! Depriving the Chinese of all that scrap metal!

It is about the only way to show union support - at least with your own money.
You could also require union tradesmen to work on your house, something I did not.
I've owned a few foreign cars - MR2, RX7, TR7, X1/9, but they were all toys. I did own one daily driver, a Geo Metro (a rebadged Suzuki), but at least GM got a slice of it.
There are foreign cars I would buy but they do not have a direct US replacement in their class.
Buying used cars drives up their value, which lowers lifetime cost of car ownership for new cars. Ever wonder how Honda leases Civics so cheap?

Btw guys, fell free to explain yourselves, don't be boxed in by the poll. It seems like no matter how hard you try you can't get all the right choices.

Well I bought two brand new Fords and I have bought two used Honda's...so I guess I am a turncoat. However, Hondas are assembled here in the USA (Civics are) and one can make the argument that it does help American workers.
Not too many unions left.......hard to buy strictly union stuff.

Believe it or not, I actually check. It's become impossible to buy a vehicle that's entirely union made, anymore. The unions gave up on pressing management to buy union made parts decades ago.
However, one can still check to see where a vehicle and it's major components originated from, or at least were assembled.
Both of my vehicles were assembled by union workers. The '97 Dakota, which I bought new, was assembled by UAW workers in Warren, Michigan and the '09 Challenger was assembled by CAW workers in Brampton, Ontario.
So, there.
So far, I have never owned an entirely non-union made vehicle.

I should also add that I support unions in any country, not just the US, so when I buy that $100,000 Mercedes I'll be supporting German union workers.
John
PS: I'd be willing to bet that German-made Mercedes are as close to 100% union made, cars and component parts, as you're ever likely to find.
