I still wonder, should Mr. Obama get the credit for reducing the deficit or is it an indirect result of Republican house intransigence?

It will not matter if a default throws the country into a recession next year.
that is the whole point of the article. The Tea Party does not even want to pay the electric bill....

I was not referring to the TP. To me they are a delusional group with no vision, rather destroy the nation to attain their ideals but the mainstream GOP is using TP either for cover or for fear of getting "primaried" by blocking various spending bills.
