The one thing they all have in common is no taste, crappy texture. This is the reason I built my own greenhouse.
Are the workers there treated like shit by greedy jagoffs who probably consider themselves to be sanctified "job creaters"?

Just trying to keep the thread on track.

No, they're treated like shit by idiot middle managers with superiority complexes, who foolishly believe they can get ahead by walking on those under them.

That sounds like you're giving a pass to the owners.

Who turn a blind eye towards what the idiot middle managers do, so long as the cash keeps flowing. Not being directly involved gives them a degree of deniability.

I'm not giving out passes to anyone, I don't work at the movie theater.
I'm just saying it's not usually the owner who's the asshole, he just knows how to hire and manipulate the assholes, leaving him free to act like a nice guy, which of course he's not.
If you work for a small enough company, the owner is the boss and he's much less likely to treat you badly. This is where all the regulations hurts the common man. Small businesses with decent bosses/owners can't compete. They can't afford the lawyers and accountants and etc. to meet all the regulations. So, the little biz folds up and you end up working for the huge corporation, and get treated like shit.

I'm such a demanding asshole to work for. Slavishly adhering to bldg. codes and safety regs are such a pain in the ass. If I would only ignore all that stuff, imagine what my bottom line would be...

Sorry but I gotta call bullshit in light of the recent catastrophic explosion in Texas at that small biz fertilizer factory. In my experience finding and fixing all manner of screwed up and dangerous bldg. code violations, the thinking that we need less regulation is preposterous.

I only worked with small businesses when I came down here and they did not have any problems with regulations. All this moaning and groaning is pure bovine excrement.

I cannot count the number of times that when I explain to a homeowner that the local bldg. dept. is their best defense against shoddy workmanship and outright fraud, many of them moan & groan about the cost of bldg. permits. Idjit Repubs mostly but then again I live in Teabagger central, 'The OC'....
