Lindy Boggs - RIP

Lindy Boggs, wife of House Majority Leader Hale Boggs, just died. She took over his congressional seat when he was lost in an Alaska plane accident. My mom was Hale Boggs' secretary before he passed and became Lindy's secretary when she served in Congress. Accordingly, she was both my mom's boss and my congressman when I took my first job out of college in New Orleans. I met her several times and found her to be kind, smart and gracious.

For those that didn't know, she was Cokie Roberts' mother.
