Still the essential point in my response to Oerets is that the GOP does not have the streets to itself. ANTIFA as a

I can't say that Antifa is generally a major factor tho the Ngo incident did discredit their cause somewhat. The racist right with it's religious and inplicit LEO wingnut support is a far more common factor in the threat to social tranquility here, and elsewhere. Antifa is the reactionary minority response to the right wingnuts, they do not represent progressive liberal interests with these tactics, nor speak for them.

To the larger point: The Democrats/Libs/Left have overestimated Trump even when they have him beaten.

The fear of Trump has led to the coalition projecting extreme nonsensical positions.
