Going back to earlier posts in this thread, I discovered an interesting fact about the mortgage industry. When we took the first mortgage on this home we paid $400 for title insurance. When we re-mortgaged to lower the interest we again paid $400 for title insurance, I guess the first policy was not good enough. Ah no, that was not the case. The simple fact is that the commission on title insurance is 80%. So the insurance really only cost $80 and the title company ran off with $320. As I have noted earlier our mortgage system here was designed by thieves for thieves. In fact I truly believe our whole financial system was designed by thieves.
