Ideology is all the right has left, me boyo. The 'baggers have squandered any leverage they had left in this latest kerfuffle. There's no way the speaker is going to let his party get steamrolled again by the suicide caucus in January.

Now we're beginning the second half. The Donks are committed to running with their PPACA offense, while the Repukes have moved Cruz to the middle linebacker slot.

This is not the critical game. We're talking about the 2014 rematch, where the Donks in the senate currently have app 20 on injured reserve, while the Repukes have only app 13.

What is important at this point is to see how many people can get healthy enough in 2014 to field for the great rematch in 2016.

And the winner gets the trophy. And we get to pay for it.

And once that is over, we all can piss and moan and bitch and groan until next season.

And we get to pay for that one as well.

They let Cruz run? More like Cruz pulled the key on his suicide vest and killed
all of his team at the same time.

Except Cruz had someone else wear the vest...

Do not worry Charles I will be here with you after Hillary wins...

2016 will no doubt be messy, but at this point I believe the democrats
will still have the White House. I doubt you will see any massive changes in congress.

Ideology is simply the philosophy in which ones beliefs are based. If the
republicans abandon what they believe, just for the sake of corporation
with the other side, then having a multiparty system is pointless.

They don't have the level of leverage that may have been claimed anyway.
If they had as much influence as some have suggested, the government shut
down would likely still be in effect.

The democrats will likely win. But don't be so sure it will necessarily be
Hillary. That's what people were telling me back before 2008.

I should have clarified it for you my pedantic friend.<grin> Dogmatic ideology is what I meant. Hopefully Boehner has learned his lesson that he shouldn't allow himself to be lead around by his nose by nihilists and libertarians.

He wasn't, Boehner is too much of a wuss to follow them.

I'm thinking he's wanted to tell them to go fuck themselves for a long time and he finally mustered up the stones to do it. See that's what a "leader" does. He doesn't follow jackass Tea Party freshmen, he leads them. I'm glad Boehner finally found the oats to actually be the leader he's supposed to have been all along.

See, this what I think you and all the others hate about the president;

He won't do as you tell him. He leads. And, that shit really burns, doesn't it?

Personally, I'm beginning to see the United States much as a meth freak.

The only way we are capable of functioning is to hit another vein...substituting quantitative easing for methamphetamine. I'm beginning to wonder if we aren't going to have to land flat on our asses on skid row before we can start to recover. It wouldn't be the first time it's happened to a nation.

Of course, I'm the type of person who tends to worry about what could go wrong. Don't have to worry much about what's going to go right.

I'd like it a lot better if he were leading me to somewhere I'd like to go.

Personally, I think he's no more than a mouthpiece for the people who put him in power in the first place.
