Slippery Slope: Seasons

Winter seems to be the season that makes me most grounded. It's the bulk nuts like walnuts and hazelnuts. They are simple foods that take time to eat and cracking them reminds me of watching ice skating on TV with my grandparents. It is only in the past few years that I have noticed that they are only available during winter.

Tonight I read a story that mentions "out-of-season berries". How many people appreciate that phrase while eating blueberry pancakes in January? How many of those people long for the old times?

Interesting stuff to think about IMO.
