The report is true (WaPo), but coming from a blogger, it is more cringe worthy. It's always fun fun fun to pick on The Dotard.

Breaking With Tradition, President Is Illiterate

Quote:
Donald Trump’s entire political life has been dominated by what the media love to refer to as his “breaking with tradition.” It’s a rather delicate way to describe his flouting of protocol and common decency through either Gaston-level hubris or sheer incompetence. He’s “broken tradition” by golfing instead of doing presidential community service on Martin Luther King Jr. Day; not hosting a state dinner; not having a press conference at the G20; not holding an Iftar dinner for Ramadan, tweeting, and eating his steak well done with ketchup, among other things.

Well now there’s another item to add to the list. A Washington Post article titled—you guessed it—“Breaking with tradition, Trump skips president’s written intelligence report and relies on oral briefings,” describes, well, just that. For much of his tenure as president, instead of reading through the fabled Presidential Daily Brief (PBD), which compiles information from U.S. intelligence agencies, Trump gets an “oral briefing of select intelligence issues.” To be fair, it’s very well known that Trump has a frighteningly small attention span and prefers a Baby Einstein approach to briefings, with “lots of graphics and maps.”

WASHINGTON (The Borowitz Report)—In comments to reporters at the White House on Friday, Donald J. Trump stirred controversy by lavishing an alleged wife beater with praise that he historically has reserved for child molesters and Nazis.

Reporters who heard the President’s comments were taken aback since, in the past, the President had given no indication that he held wife beaters in the same high esteem in which he holds supporters of child abuse and white supremacy.

“We knew that President Trump considered child molesters and Nazis very fine people, but this was the first time he had put wife beaters up there, too,” Tracy Klugian, a member of the White House press corps, said. “We wanted clarification as to whether he considered wife beaters as fine as those other two groups, or finer.”

John Kelly, the White House chief of staff, accused reporters of attempting to drive a wedge between three of the President’s most cherished constituencies.

“Donald Trump has made it very clear that he can be the champion of wife beaters, child molesters, and Nazis at the same time,” Kelly said. “He doesn’t play favorites.”

"This is the autopsy of a lie.

On the night of Nov. 18, Border Patrol Agent Rogelio Martinez was found dying on the side of an interstate in West Texas. There were immediate signs it had been an accident. Martinez’s partner, Stephen Garland (who suffered a head injury and doesn’t recall the incident), had radioed for help, saying he thought he ran into a culvert.

But President Trump and his allies saw an opportunity to whip up anti-immigrant fervor. At a Cabinet meeting Nov. 20, Trump announced, with cameras rolling, that “we lost a Border Patrol officer just yesterday, and another one was brutally beaten and badly, badly hurt. . . . We’re going to have the wall.” He also issued a similar tweet.

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott, a Republican, offered a reward “to help solve this murder” and to “help us catch this killer.”
Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Tex.) declared the incident “a stark reminder of the ongoing threat that an unsecure border poses.”

And then there was Fox News, reporting that “a border patrol agent was brutally murdered” and going with the headline “Border Patrol agent appeared to be ambushed by illegal immigrants, bashed with rocks before death.” Fox News host Tucker Carlson reported that Martinez was “attacked at the border in the most gruesome possible way.”

The FBI swung into action, mobilizing 37 field offices, and this week it announced its findings. Although the investigation “has not conclusively determined” what happened, “none of the more than 650 interviews completed, locations searched, or evidence collected and analyzed have produced evidence that would support the existence of a scuffle, altercation, or attack on November 18, 2017.”

Compared with the original allegations, the findings got little attention. There was no corrective tweet from Trump or the others and no retraction by Fox News, which buried the FBI’s findings with brief mention. Fox News, which had previously reported immigrants to be guilty of rape allegations that were later dropped, continued to report the border union’s claim of assault “despite FBI finding no scuffle.”" WP

Tweet from Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY)

The lives of survivors of sexual assault and domestic abuse are being shattered every day. If he wants due process for the over dozen sexual assault allegations against him, let’s have Congressional hearings tomorrow. I would support that and my colleagues should too.

I wish our elected officials would take action in regards to the sexual misconduct allegations against Trump.

IIRC, Clinton was impeached over allegedly lying about allegedly sexually assaulting Paula Jones.

We know that Trump lies, on average, five times per day. He’s certainly lying about sexually assaulting at least 15 women and girls. Time for the Repubes to stop their hypocrisy and take the same action against Donny. After all, Donny is all for due process, right?

Now the FBI chief says the WH is lying about the wife beater. When the FBI says you’re lying to the American people, you resign. Well, at least in a normal administration, one that doesn’t lie by default. Sigh. It never ends.
