Of course they and I are bias. We are all human, after all. I understand full well their bias (IMO neutral to slightly left on news; left of center for editorials, sometimes with a NeoCon slant (particularly on pieces by Kagan); and mixed on opinion pieces with the likes of Will, Gerson, Samuelson, Rubin, Thiessen, Krauthammer contributing.) I understand these biases going in.

The same applies to every thing else I read or listen to. I apply my perception of bias and journalistic integrity to what I read/hear from each source. That's why I assert that the WashPost is at or near the top of newspaper journalism on political matters. Their sports page is great too.

What newspaper(s) do you feel covers day-to-day American politics better than the Post? Which other has a better reputation and greater influence? I'll concede it that it was the NYTimes for decades, but the Post took over the mantle during Watergate under Ben Bradlee. The WSJournal is pretty good, but not nearly as good as it was before Murdoch took over (same goes since significant downsizing at the Post).

I follow PC for my daily political coverage. Talk about bias!

Seriously though, I'm apolitical and as such the Post doesn't do much for me. Having been a Sun reader for the first 25 years of my life may have something to do with it too. As far a obtaining an understanding of things, I prefer good magazine articles (The Atlantic, The Economist, National Review, New Republic ...). The Sun and NYT use to have great in depth articles, especially on Sunday. Times change, although a lot more at the Baltimore than the New York paper.

No shit Sherlock.

So why does a dude like Jeff Bezos, who likes to make lots of money fast, "invest" in a white elephant like that?

I submit to you that it is because he wants to use the Post to manipulate public opinion in such a way as to enhance his profits elsewhere, ie his Amazon.com Sweatshop Empire.

Yeah and the Miami Dauphins had a perfect season in 1972.

That was then.

This is now.

Here's a clue Finn.

Everybody who worked at the Post during Watergate is either retired or dead.

Those people are job scared.

They are working for print media which is a dying Dinosaur going the way of the buggy whip and the eight track tape. They have kids in private school or college, big mortgages on McMansions in Alexandria, and retirement to save for. And Jeff Bezos holds their livlihoods in his hands.

He is Das Fuhrer and they are "working toward the Fuhrer" in the hopes of being able to hold on to their jobs.

It is often the case that it is the comedians that are the best at exposing the truth.

For example this monologue by George Carlin.

That's the problem. You think better of Trump than you do of us.

Only a few of us.

I think your problem may be that you think you know what others think.

I take guesses. Sometimes people bother to correct me.

In the future, when it's not me, but the Christian Police, don't crack wise. They have no sense of humor.

Much truth.

Bernie cares.
