Sure they do....

Speaking of clueless - and you'd certainly be an expert on cluelessness - have you seen who is tops in 2020 polling for the Dems? Why none other than ol' Joe Biden. This is the guy who made some racially charged comments about Obama during the 2008 campaign. This is the same guy who remarked: "In Delaware, the largest growth in population is Indian-Americans moving from India. You cannot go to a 7-11 or a Dunkin Donuts unless you have a slight Indian accent. I'm not joking." He also recently joked about his home state of Delaware, saying that it was "a slave state that fought beside the North." He added, "that's only because we couldn't figure out how to get to the South, there were a couple of other states in the way."

So when is Joe going to get "booted", Finn?

Any Republican making superior arguments suggestions or opinions on the apparent racism in others, to me is akin to a Catholic Priest voicing them on sexual abuse. Get your own house in order first before going after others.

That was then, this is now. Politics is about branding and drawing contrasts with opponents. The Democrats have become less tolerant of racism and misogyny while Trump's GOP have embraced both whole-heartedly. Trump has made it very easy for the Dems to claim the high ground on racism and misogyny, deservedly or otherwise. In the words of esteemed political scientist Larry Sabato of UVa (who understands Virginia politics better than just about anybody) "This is about 2020 and having a clean contrast with Donald Trump on racial issues."

Oh, sure they have.

So, when are the Dems going to "boot" Obama for his history of being chummy with Calypso Louie?

For that matter, when are they going to boot folks like Keith Ellison and Danny Davis for being chummy with that rabid anti-Semite?

And thank you for continuing to affirm that for Dems its all about racial politics rather than defeating racism.

So, Obama is now the racist while Trump remains the upstanding, moral and tolerant president? Jeez. All you seem able to do is to retrieve shopworn memes.

OMG, politicians are engaged in politics!!! Who knew? And yes, Democrats do indeed oppose racism while the GOP and Trump openly embrace it and Democrats want to draw this contrast. To do otherwise would be political malpractice.

I thought that you may have been absent from this site due to embarrassment for having defended Trump's myriad lies, incompetence, ignorance and traitorous behavior and had finally seen the error in your ways. Boy, was I wrong.

TrumPutin: "Dems do nothing. If there is no Wall, there is no Security. Human Trafficking, Drugs and Criminals of all dimensions - KEEP OUT!"

Whell: “Obama’s a racist!”

So, here's what I've learned from you in this thread:

- Northham - needs to resign 'cuz, darn it, with Trump in office we just can't afford to have the appearance of racial animus. If Hillary had won in 2016, Northam's childhood behavior probably not a problem.

- Even though prominent Dems have a history of making poor choices in their comment / associations, it doesn't matter 'cuz Trump is worse.

- That includes Dems currently in office: the issue isn't their behavior, statements or associates, its all about Trump/the GOP.

Thanks guys. Don't know what I'd do without you.

Good Lord!

You're welcome. It does seem that you're finally developing an understanding of politics, though you are indeed quite slow on the uptake. The more time you spend outside of the MAGAMedia bubble and the more you refrain from buying into wingnut memes, the better off you'll be.

That said, your first point may be true - hard to know for sure. Your second point is specious, implying that Dems alone have a history of making poor choices, and your third point is patently incorrect - Northam and Franken clearly demonstrate that (compare Republican handling of Steve King and Roy Moore to the Dems on Northam and Franken).

Having worked in the belly of the beast for 38 years and having been involved in Congressional hearings/testimony for three departments under the GOP and Dems, both parties play by the same cynical and Machiavellian rules, though Trump has thrown away a lot of the rulebook in favor of vile, narcissistic incompetence and profound dishonesty and corruption.

This article should help explain the Dems' actions regarding Northam, Franken and Conyers during the times of Trump.
