I miss the Kern! Did you run the rapids?

Naw, I'm not suicidal plus it was cold, cold, cold water. Water levels were up but no where near springmelt levels. I did catch Patty a 12" rainbow for dinner.

I always wore a wetsuit before 4th of July. Don't blame you for not running Limestone, I'm too old for that shit now too. I would still do the Powerhouse run though.

The Dragon rock formation is still there at the top of the campground. Caltrans shut off access on the M50 to the Grove of the 100 Giants for roadwork . So, no Sequoia sitings. Too bad Patty wasn't up for the one mile hike to the Slide on Upper Peppermint Creek, you can't drive up there anymore from the main road. Have you ever been there?

We found our old cat Maggie of The Kern River up at Limestone in the early nineties. She adopted us on one of our trips up there. Good ol' Tortie lived to nineteen years old in bliss.

Yes, we used to go up there with our beer occasionally, to escape the mid day heat.
Both the kids learned to swim in the Kern, right there at the park in town. There was a great rope swing at the downstream end of the park. You had to swim pretty hard after jumping off to get back to shore before the current pulled you down river.

They had a huge fire burn it's way through the Johnsondale area. It took out a lot of timber. There was even signs that it swept through Limestone. I've got a thread going in Off Topic about the trip.

Same here. I hope it's just server maintenance or some such. Hell, I took three tries just to respond here.

Me too man, maybe a power issue or something, who knows. I'm sure they are on it like a duck on a june bug. Well, I guess I could cruise around in here and piss some people off with my common sense.
